Dr. K. presents a talk at City Art Rooms, part 1

– drawing by Franz Kafka

One theme suggested for the installation that goes with study is the wall with the door that becomes a curtain which becomes a screen so that there is really no way out and yet the image is one of leaving. You might say you have to be naked to leave. But you actually have to be empty. And all surface. Hollow, in fact. And nothing underneath. Because, There are no escape routes that lead into the earth. So you are leaving before you arrive. Looking in the other direction before you have looked in this.
